About this employment scheme
PM Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is implemented in J&K through KVIC (Khadi & Village Industries Commission), KVIB (J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board), and DICs (District Industries Centres). J&K PMEGP provides loans ₹2-25 lakh for manufacturing and ₹2-10 lakh for service units with 25-35% government subsidy. J&K Special: SC/ST/Women/Ex-servicemen/PH get 35% subsidy (vs 25% for general). First-generation entrepreneurs get additional mentoring. J&K also has ‘Himayat’ programme for youth skill development + placement. Apply via pmegp.kvic.gov.in during April-November. Over 15,000 J&K units supported annually.
