Livestock is playing a vital and important role in the economic development of the District. The rearing of cattle is a very old and core activity in the economic profile of the District. The cattle is grazed on vast meadows and pastures surrounded by the lush green forests during the summer season. Most of the live stock population; particularly sheep have been transformed into high quality breed by using latest immunization techniques and through improved quality live stock imported from other countries.
