Health

The word “Health” refers not only to the absence of disease but complete physical and mental fitness of living being but complete physical and mental fitness of living beings. Health of a particular area or region is an essential component of development, vital to area/ region’s Economic Growth and internal stability. Assuring a minimum level of health care to the population is a critical constituent of the development process. Considerable achievements have been made to improve the health standards such a Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Crude Birth Rate (CBR) Crude Death Rate (CDR) . Health care both curative and preventive is being given at considerably wide and improved scale in rural and urban areas. The progress of health infrastructure in the district can be judged by the availability of hospitals, dispensaries and doctors. 

We have video Endoscopic facilities available at SDH Ganderbal. The health department is providing USG, ECG, X-Ray, operation and other laboratory investigations to the patients through a net work of 104 health institutions which include two Sub District Hospitals (one with trauma unit), Two MMC’s, 15 PHC’s (one with Trauma unit) and 16 NTPHC’s. The ambulances are available round the clock at each and every health intuitions of the district. The department provides all the immunization to the Children and pregnant ladies. 

In addition to the routine work, the health sector of District Ganderbal is discharging an important responsibility of providing Medical aid facilities to the yatris of Shri Amarnath Ji visiting through Baltal route for the purpose. Medical camps are established at Pandach, Manigam( Transit Camp), Bypass Zazna, Nilgarath, Baltal , Domail, Brari Marg, Sangam and at the Holly Cave. Besides, the health authorities of the district are committed to provide health facilities during Mela Kheer Bhawani Tullammula and Moharam days.
