About this scheme for girls
Jammu & Kashmir Ladli Beti Yojana provides financial support to girl children from birth to Class 12: ₹1,000/month deposited in a recurring deposit in the girl’s name by the government from birth to age 14, and a lump sum maturity benefit payable when she completes Class 12 (around age 18). The scheme aims to promote girl child education, reduce gender discrimination, and provide financial security. Benefits are available to all J&K residents regardless of income. Administered by the J&K Social Welfare Department.
